He kept my pace down, which was probably a good thing, since it was only my second run in my VFFs.  It's definitely much more of a calf workout running barefoot style!  Next run should be better. It felt totally unnatural, and I could tell I was running a lot slower than normal.It made me really think about whether I was hitting heel first or with the ball of my foot.   It was pretty tiring, and I couldn't get into my run. It actually felt really good, even though it was a completely alien experience.  Your feet naturally adjust when running, and you strike with the ball of your foot instead of heel striking.I'm slowly introducing myself to them once-weekly to avoid injury.
